Editor's pick of the month
A floating water mat that turns your waterfront into a natural gathering spot — like a dock you can relax, play, and make memories on.
Why I recommend it: If I could recommend just one product to transform a day at the cottage, it would be the Aqua Mat. It's become one of my absolute favourite additions to the cottages I manage because it naturally brings everyone together on the water. Think of it as your own floating dock. Whether you're swimming, relaxing in the sun, chatting with friends, or watching the kids play, it's the perfect place to gather. It's incredibly easy to climb on and off, making it ideal for both confident swimmers and anyone who just wants to dip their feet in the lake. I've found that guests of all ages gravitate toward it — from young kids to grandparents. It's one of those simple additions that creates the kind of unforgettable lake memories people talk about long after their vacation is over. If you're looking for one upgrade that makes your waterfront feel even more fun, welcoming, and memorable, this is it.

Dock & Lake EssentialsUsed in Our Managed CottagesA floating water mat that turns your waterfront into a natural gathering spot — like a dock you can relax, play, and make memories on.

Dock & Lake EssentialsUsed in Our Managed CottagesA stable, all-around inflatable stand-up paddle board — the one lake toy I truly can't live without at the cottage.
Why I recommend it
If I had to choose just one lake toy, it would be a stand-up paddle board — without a doubt. It's incredibly versatile and has become one of my favourite ways to enjoy a day at the cottage. Some days I'm paddling around the lake for a little adventure, and other days I'm simply lying on it, soaking up the sun and floating for hours. It's the perfect place to enjoy a charcuterie lunch on the water, and it's stable enough to bring my dog along for the ride. One of my favourite uses is towing an Aqua Mat, another paddle board, or even a small floating lounge to create the ultimate day on the lake with family and friends. I also love using it as a launch point from the dock — I can paddle away from the shoreline, escape the weeds, and jump into the clear water for a swim. Whether you prefer to stand, sit, kneel, or simply relax, a paddle board adapts to however you want to spend your day. It's fun, easy to use, and suitable for almost everyone. After countless cottage weekends, I can honestly say this is the one piece of lake gear I never want to be without. If you're only investing in one waterfront activity, this would be my first choice every time.
